Also be sure to keep an eye out for this and many new innovative web hosting account options that we're offering soon. These accounts include support for Cold Fusion, Microsoft's Visual Interdev, Active Server Pages, and much more! Keep an eye out for the latest information here or at our web services page!

Hypercon adopts 56 Kbps technology

Hypercon is totally replacing all its internal equipment structure to provide a 100% digital network, capable of offering our clients Internet connectivity from 14.4 Kbps to 1.544 Mbps and beyond. Hypercon is supporting the K56flex technology supported by most modem manufacturers as well as the largest chipset manufacturer. This will allow users to surf the 'net at roughly twice the speed as was possible before! We are adopting this standard because it is being embraced by the majority of vendors. Note that this is not compatible with USRobotics' X2. A final standard has not yet been decided upon by the IETF and other standards bodies, but once one is voted in, rest assure that Hypercon will adopt it and support it immediately. Here is a list of some vendors that are currently supporting K56flex.

Well, we finally did it! We hope you like our new web site. The old web site has been a work in progress ever since it went online. The last major revision of our site took place back in March of 1995! We've been growing so fast, that taking care of our customers was our priority, and we never could do anything else! Now that we've caught up with our ever increasing growth curve by expanding our facilities, bringing on new staff, and becoming more efficient, we had the time to follow up on our site development. There will be a tremendous amount of helpful information available on our pages in the near future. Instructions for our customers, more in-depth information on our services, service updates for our customers, and generally more fun stuff will be updated regularly. Let us know what you think!

Hypercon Hosts Houston's First "Cyber-Club"

Debut of adtexas.com attracts Houston's marketing professionals

HOUSTON (July 18, 1996)-- As the buzz about the Internet gets louder, some Houston business professionals are finding it easier to cover their ears and hope the "information superhighway" goes away. Surprisingly, these are the same company managers and owners who understand the Internet's powerful growth possibilities, but lack the time and energy to master ever-changing on-line marketing.

Hypercon, Inc., a Houston-based Internet and Web services company, has launched a campaign that may ease the Internet research process for professionals. On Thursday, July 25, Hypercon will host Houston's first "Cyber-Club," a social event that brings technology into Houston's trendiest night spots. Cyber-Club will premier at the Q Cafe, 2205 Richmond, from 4:30-8:30 p.m.

Cyber-Club guests will get a taste of what clubs and restaurants may be like in the near future. Computer terminals with full Internet and e-mail access will be available throughout the Q Cafe for hands-on demonstrations, surfing on the net, or for sending a quick message to a friend in New York.

"The idea behind this event is to make the information-gathering process easier for Houston business professionals, in a relaxed environment," says Erik Fowler, vice president and director of marketing for Hypercon, Inc. "In addition, we also wanted to give business owners and managers a chance to share their ideas and experiences about marketing on the Internet."

Hypercon will also debut adtexas. com., the first comprehensive Internet site devoted to advertising, marketing and public relations in Texas. The website will include a complete listing of Houston's on-line advertising and public relations agencies, marketing news and trends, and professional development information. "Hypercon is consulting with the Houston Advertising Federation and local agencies to address their information-sharing needs," says Fowler. "From the input we've received, I anticipate that adtexas.com will be a popular address."

Fowler adds that agency and marketing representatives attending the event will be able to register for a free listing on adtexas.com. This event is open to all Houston professionals interested in learning about the latest in marketing through the World Wide Web.

For more information about Cyber-Club at the Q Cafe, please contact Erik Fowler at 713-528-2400, or [email protected].
